Teaching and Learning

This week was exhausting yet rewarding, a balance of teaching and learning that left me grateful for both.

On teaching, I delivered sessions on Data Privacy, OECD privacy principles, governance risk and compliance methodologies, and cybersecurity frameworks like NIST and ISO. These are more than technical requirements—they shape how trust, integrity, and good governance take root. Preparing and presenting them took focus and energy, but seeing participants connect the dots made the effort worthwhile.

On learning, I drew insights from two sessions: "The Moral Compass of a Public Servant: Ethics in Action" and "Exploring Emerging Law Enforcement and Public Safety Issues in ASEAN: Challenges and Opportunities." The first showed how ethical frameworks must guide public service decisions. The second made clear that cybersecurity, law enforcement, and public safety challenges cross borders. No single nation can address them alone.

The convergence was clear. What I teach about technical frameworks and what I learned about ethics and regional cooperation show that institutions serve citizens best when competence is matched with integrity.
